Yin and Yang: How do you balance work and family?
It’s so hard. Honestly, I either need more hours in the day or a full-time nanny – ha! BUT, I’m hopeful that as I grow and my business grows, so will my ability and tolerance to cope with more. Getting time to myself to recharge and rest is also so important! It means I am able to be more present and motivated in all the areas of my life. I should also mention that I have such a wonderful, supportive husband who helps so much.

The drive: What challenges have you overcome?
There have been so many! But one that can be an ongoing struggle is looking at other brands on social media who are doing similar things to me and feeling like it’s too late for me, or that I can’t compete with these bigger brands. I constantly need to remind myself that I am unique and there is a place for me at the table. It may not be for everyone, but I know that there are women out there who, just like me, have a desire to wear classic, elegant yet functional garments that match with their littles ones, even their little boys.
For better or worse: What are the pros and cons of running your own business?
The cons are not having designated work hours and not being able to switch off easily – it’s so easy to ‘bring work home’.
The pros are the joy that I get to use my gifts and talents for creating products that I genuinely love wearing and dressing my son in, and the fact that I can share that with the world feels like I’m pursuing my lifelong dream!

Hopes and dreams: What next?
Remember how I mentioned I’m all about that ‘matchy matchy’? Well I’d love to one day expand my product range to men’s, homewares, bedding, accessories and baby goods. I can picture my future home decked out with textiles that I have designed on curtains, lamp shades and cushions that also match my dress and my little one’s clothes too. Maybe that’s over the top… but I secretly love it!
